These drawings were inspired from Toby’s expeditions around the world. Toby is known for having travelled the Artic and the Antarctic, experimenting with underwater animal drawings, and climbing peaks in the Mont Blanc massif over 4000m. These feats rendered even more challenging while hauling drawing and painting equipment. Toby is committed to nature conservation and bringing awareness to climate change.
Toby has painted the portraits of the members of the administration of the Oceanographic Museum. As well as being committed to Monaco’s conservation efforts, he is also a member of the explorer’s club of New York, and the UK’s Alpine club.
For this exhibition, a book is edited by Accademia Fine Art, with a preface and introductions from various eminent voices in the world of conservation. Toby continues a tradition of expedition artists initiated by the likes of Louis Tinayre, who worked for Prince Albert 1st.
